What sounds better on a hot and steamy summer day than a tall, cold, yummy glass full of something that looks like it’s already been down once and come back up again? Well, lots of things, probably, but your friends and neighbors might just get a kick out of this disgustingly refreshing Jell-O® drink.

Drinking it won’t make them feel queasy, but looking at it might. Here’s what you’ll need to make it:

1 box of Lime and Peach Jell-O® (or something similar)

40 ice cubes

2 Liter bottle of Squirt soda
                                                   (or something else clear)

Start by making the gelatin just like it says on the box and then pouring it into a really shallow baking pan. Chill it for about three hours.

When you take it out of the fridge, use a table knife to make as many tiny cubes as you can by cutting narrow strips the length and width of the pan. Then take your ice cubes (not the little Jell-O® cubes) and grind them up in a blender.

Finally, start spooning alternating layers of Jell-O and ice into tall, clear glasses. (It’s very important for the gross-factor that you be able to see through the glasses.) Keep filling until the glasses are almost full and then slowly fill each glass with the soda. Stir easily.

Serve with long spoons so your grateful friends can scoop out every pukalicious drop. Mmm-mmm.

Now for that odd tie-in. Isaiah used the illustration of a cup to talk about something you would never want to drink up—God’s wrath (Isa. 51). Fortunately, God offers us the opportunity to escape His anger by trusting in His Son for our salvation.

Enjoy your summer and be careful what you drink.

I dare you.
